Joe T. Mooney

Lucan, Dublin

Mooney, Joe T (CEO of MDI and Board member of the D.F.I., Chairperson of Lucan Disability of West Dublin) – 15th September, 2015. Loving husband of Aisling, loving son of Mai and the late Benny Mooney; brother of Anna, Pascal, Judy and Maire and of the late Dymphna and Seamus; brother-in-law of James, Geraldine, Tommy, Jason, Jacinta, Patrick, David and Annette and son-in-law to Maureen. He will be sadly missed by his nieces Debbie, Jamie, Katie-Mai, Emily, Chloe, Anna, Niamh, Sinead and Caoimhe and nephews, Ben, Leo and Eoin. He will be missed by his aunts, uncles and cousins from Donegal and England. Also sadly missed by his life-long friends from MDI, Donegal and Dublin as well his younger friends Emma, Molly and James from Santry and Emma, Sam and Deirbhile from Lucan. He will be missed by his personal assistants both past and present, both Phillip and Bart. Sadly missed by members of MDI, his staff, past and present of MDI. He will also be missed by his colleagues from Beaumont Hospital, C.I.L. and D.F.I., I.W.A., C.R.C., D.C.I.L. and Lucan Disability Action Group and all the management and staff of the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney.

Joe will repose at his home in Lucan on (Sunday) evening with an open house from 5pm. On Monday morning he will arrive to the MDI office in Chapelizod at 10am as a mark of respect, following that he will proceed for a short drive on Main Street Lucan approx. at 11am. He will then proceed to Carndonagh, Co. Donegal where he will be waked at his family home. Joe’s Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday morning at 11am in Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only with donations to Muscular Dystrophy Ireland or Lucan Disability Action Group.
