Sincere condolences to Angela, Marion, John, Breda and Elaine and the extended Forde family. We learned of his untimely passing on our return to Ireland. Sincere condolences to Mrs. Forde and the extended Forde family. As Principal of St. Nicholas N.S., Mr. Forde fostered a great love of music and particularly singing at school. As a very proud Mayo man, no child left school without knowledge of Irish history and particularly the activism of Michael Davitt or indeed where Straide is on the map. He contributed significantly to the development of the school over many years and I’m very sorry to read of his passing in the local paper today. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
— Lorna Martyn (former pupil)

*A very good man*

Made sure every child in the community at the time was enrolled into formal school. Despite cultural differences, Brendan Forde carried everyone along , providing equal opportunities for all and an enabling playing field for all to emerge their best.

*He’s certainly in Heaven*.

Loved to sing 🎵 his gospel
and a forerunner of Christmas Carol at Claddagh church ⛪️ , with him singing solo to his favourite Carol song ‘O Night Divine.
Many would have awesome memory of him

May his soul rest in peace 🙏🏽

Pls Accept Our Condolences.
