Dear Lek, your children and members of Brian's family. We send you our heartfelt sympathy. We are thinking of you all. We have just found out that Brian passed away. Stuart and Brian along with Tim Meers (who also sadly passed away recently), worked together in the UK legal department at Irish Life. Brian was seconded to work in the UK during the 1990s. During that time Brian quickly displayed his intelligence, kindness and humour. Stuart and Tim loved working with Brian. He became such a dear friend and although Brian and Stuart both left Irish life they remained in contact. Brian visited us in the UK in January this year. We had a lovely evening with Brian talking over dinner, and were enthralled by Brian's wisdom, intellect and kindness. Typically thoughtful, Brian later posted to Mary several of the pieces of Irish literature we had discussed. We are glad we were able to have had that time together. Brian was such a remarkable man. We are privileged to have known him. Brian will be sadly missed. Our love to you all. Stuart and Mary Bazley.

Our sincere condolence to Lek and her family on the death of Brian. When Brian and I worked in Abbey Street we used to cycle for many years from Portmarnock and back. He was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.

I worked with Brian in the Legal Aid Board for many years and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He had great compassion and kindness for Clients and colleagues. I will miss Brian as he was a great friend and he always kept in contact. His sudden death is a great loss to many.

My deepest sympathy to Dermot and the entire Duncan Family on the death of Brian. I met Brian several times when I was C.C. In Kilconnell and he was a real gentleman . He visited his late mother , Noreen, regularly when she lived in Kilconnell. So also did Dermot and indeed Dermot was so good to Kilconnell when the news of the new school got the go ahead from the Dept of Education . He looked after all the legal work at the time and was most helpful , looking after all the correspondence associated with the school. Since his late father , Cyril , was once principal of the school , Dermot was most generous with his time to us and no charge was issued . We don’t forget these kind gestures.

All of us in Thailand are most saddened by the passing of Brother Brian. It was sudden and too soon.

Brother Brian was loved by all relatives, including friends who had the opportunity to meet him. He was kind to everyone, optimistic and pleasant with a smiling face always.

There will not be those days with laughter times telling humorous stories anymore.

We still have Brother Brian in our loving memories forever.

Its with shock and great sadness we hear of Brian's passing just this afternoon. Sadly abroad at present.
It is fair to say Brian was one of the great Blazing Saddles - a very kind,loving and caring man. Lek and Brian have been huge supporters and fundraisers for NCBI Blazing Saddles for 30 years.... now known as Vision Ireland.

Brian was a confidant of mine for almost 30 years - great advise and timely as always.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Brian's family. His warm smile and the twinkle in his eye reflected the warmth, kindness and fun that radiated through Brian. My day in Irish Life was always a brighter day when I met Brian as we parked our bicycles in Irish Life or exchanged a few words on the stairs or in the canteen. We spoke on many topics but for me what always stood out was Brian's outstanding devotion to the down trodden and socially excluded in our society. He will be greatly missed.

So sad to hear of Brian's passing, such a wonderful, warm, kind and generous gentleman, we have very fond memories of our family visits to Dublin.
