It was with great shock and sadness that I learned today of Chris' passing.
He was a man of the highest integrity with a real, true, larger than life personality but perhaps above all he was a consummate gentleman. As others have said, he was a great believer in people and in encouraging them to grow to the greatest extent possible. The world is a poorer place with his passing. He will be remembered by those who knew him for as long as we live.

My sincerest condolences to his father Hubert, his sister Judith and brother Paul and the extended family. May he rest in peace.

I was informed by one of my colleague from Kostal Ireland, Abbeyfeale, about Mr. Sanders, was taken awy by the Angels of GOD.

I met Mr Sanders in March 1987 in Dublin, for a job in Kostal Ireland.

Still I can hear Mr. Sanders calls me, "Mr. Ramachchandran" very few people can say my name correctly, he was the first one.

Mr. Christopher Sanders, like St.Christopher for me and people like me. Mr.Sanders was not only an Ambasider to Kostal GMBH, but also to the English People.

I tell my friends that, ”Christopher Sanders is Reincarnation of St. Christopher” since I was with Kostal.

Mr.Sanders (Chris) may be no more for some, but some of us he is always with us living in our hearts.

I had in touch with him, after left Kostal and also visted Kostal India for a site visit.

For his family and friends “ It does not matter how long someone lived; but what maters is that how someone lived”. Chrittopher is still living in our hearts, “MAY GOD BE WITH YOU ALL”

Prayer 🙏 for all

God, Grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change,
The COURAGE to change the things I can, and the WISDOM to know the Difference.

S.Ramachchandran Co.Dublin
Former employee of Kostal Ireland.
— Selliah Ramachchandran

Easter would normally have been a time for me to travel to Lüdenscheid to meet up with Chris, to enjoy the finer things...good food, a drink and most importantly a frank, open and intelligent conversation.Sadly no more.

Chris was my oldest friend, having met on the second day of University in 1977.
He has in many ways been my pole star since those halcyon days.So many positive memories remain.

There should have been more. My thoughts are with you dear Chris.
So long.

My profound condolences to Hubert, Paul and Judith.
— Peter von Recklinghausen

Dear Chris,

I'm still struggling to find the words to express the sense of loss that I and many others feel ever since you passed away way too prematurely. It feels like yesterday that we ate together with my father, and you would ask me - as always, never condescendingly, but with the most genuine interest a human being can have towards someone else's wellbeing- about my studies or where I was headed to in my life. You were talking about how people have to compromise some aspects of their life to achieve bigger things in life.

I wouldn't have considered anything in the field of what I'm doing today if it wasn't for you who invited me back then to spend some time in Abbeyfeale to get to grips with my english skills. To try to talk to people, to communicate and not just go through the narratives and motions. I will not forget the lessons that I've learned just by having you as a close family friend and as my godfather. I will miss you dearly. Thank you for your wisdom and the conversations we have had. Knowing that these have been the last might be one of the most painful compromises to my future.

With sincere condolences to all your family.
— Mayu

Chris,
You have left us far too soon, it feels like only yesterday I was wishing you all the best for your well earned retirement. Thank you for all your inspiration, mentorship and kindness during our days working together.

It was always a pleasure to spend time with you, particularly over dinner and with good subject matter to discuss together. So well read but willing to listen, I learned far more from you than I could offer in return. I was so pleased out paths still occasionally intertwined long after our works paths had separated, I will miss not seeing you one last time.

With sincere condolences to all your family,
Martin & Julie Wood

It is with great sadness that we learnt that Chris has left us. Sincere condolences to his fmily and loved ones.
We were honoured to have Chris as a guest at our wedding in Luedenscheid in 2009 and privileged to have enjoyed some of his legendary parties there.
We knew Chris not only as a successful man of industry but also as a generous host, a connoiseur, an erudite conversationalist - never shy of controversy but ever helpful with incisive analysis when asked.

The world will be less lustrous without him.

Sincere condolences to Judith, Paul , Opa Hubert and all the extended Sanders family on the sad and all too early passing of Chris. This charismatic, inspirational and complete gentleman has left a long-lasting legacy on Abbeyfeale and its hinterland. He gave so many of us our first start, and nurtured and mentored us along our journey of life. Among his vast array of human qualities, his respect for people, regardless of status, was what marked him out as truly unique; we will not see his likes again. Sleep well great friend.

It was with great sadness that I received the news that Chris had left us all too young.

We extend our condolences to all the Sanders family.

I have known Chris for 35 years and consider it a privilege to call him a friend.

He was an exceptional man - a Champion of Industry and a Diplomat. After spending most of the 1980’s leading the growth and development of Kostal Ireland in Abbeyfeale he went on to act as Global Ambassador for the company, crossing New Frontiers in many countries, meeting Industrial and Government Officials in the cause of progressing Kostal’s Ambitions with outstanding success.

He was an inspirational figure to so many who owe so much to him.

Though he had retired recently he is great loss to the Kostal Organisation and a great loss to his family in particular.

Chis Sanders was a most gracious and courteous man and will be missed.

Rest in Peace Chris

You've been part of our family for so many years. I cannot express how much we all are going to miss you.

The last few weeks you've gone through a very tough period. You've become many hurdles, sadly this last one was to high. There is no pain in heaven Sir. Rest in peace

I miss him.
Meeting him 23 years ago in a Train.. we stayed all the years in contact. Meeting regularly at the IAA.. on Trips.. and even at his Home.
I still remember him once picking me up in this funny ugly french convertible car. He just smiled in a Self-irony way..knowing what everybody thought.. But he just laughed and enjoyed the top down .

Sharing lots of funny storys we gathered during our trips.. with great wine or too expensive spirits he wanted me to try. Even I m not that Whiskey/Rum guy.. I always tried Things New.
He loved the good Stuff. We enjoyed the classic, the Beauty and the Arts. He felt like a Brother I Never had and advised me like a Mentor. Miss you Chris.

To Judith and all Family.. I am so sorry.
I wish u strength and all the best. Lots of love from Würzburg/Bavaria/Germany

Our most sincere condolences to you Judith, Paul , yer dad Hubert and all the extended Saunders family on the sad passing of Chris. When Chris came to Abbeyfeale he didnt just bring employment he brought such life, vibrancy, enthusiasm to our town and opportunity to so many.Through his very gentlemanly ways and his larger than life persona he single handedly brought life to another level in Abbeyfeale, he showed us how to party, and what an entertainer he was himself which he would have learnt from the best in his great late mum.Taken much too young but has left such a legacy.
