So sorry to hear of the very sad passing of Gertie. There are some great stories of fun and laughter with the Mc Kennas over the years. There was no show like a Gertie show, the best spread put on and an atmosphere full of positivity.

I have very fond memories of being welcomed into the McKenna home for Christmas in 2003, when I was on the other side of the world to my own family at Christmas time. I was made to feel so welcome, and I recall Gertie feeding me until I almost burst! Her hospitality, kindness, generosity and sense of fun are what I remember most.
To the family - may the wonderful memories you have of Gertie lift you up at this difficult time. My prayers are with you all x
