To Ann, Paul, Dermot, Caroline and all you extended family members. it is with great sadness that we learned of Joe's passing. So suddenly and unexpected, we are left in a state of shock and disbelief.

We remember Joe with fondness during his time as a serving member of the Military Police and later, as a member of our retired Military Police Members Association.

There is no doubt that Joe's passing has left a major void in all our lives and in so many different ways.

It is only with the passage of time that his true value in this life will be fully realised. He was one of "life's greats" and was an example to us all.

Hi dedication and service to Óglaigh na hÉireann and overseas service speaks for itself. He has left a proud legacy behind.

On behalf of the Western Branch, I offer our deepest and sincere condolences to his 🌹wife and life-long partner Ann 🌹 and all his grieving family members at this sad time in your lives.

May his gentle soul Rest in God's Eternal Peace Forever, AMEN 🙏🙏
— Pat Roche, Chairman, Western Branch Military Police Assoc.
Tá sé an-deacair an drochscéala fíor-bhrónach seo faoi Joe a chreidiúint. Duine álainn ar fad a bhí ann agus tá sé imithe i bhfad ró-luath. Comhbhrón ó chroí le Ann agus lena chlann uilig, agus le Áine agus lena mhuintir uilig. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal.

Manys the time he rescued me from the elements and manys the chats we had whilst he drove me from a to b, and him with his lovely connemara accent... i have no doubt he'll rest well in heaven.

Joe was a gentleman, I always remember his big happy smile. It was the first thing one saw when meeting him. He was always calm, polite and I cannot ever remember a cross word from him.
It was a privilege for me to have served with him both at home and overseas, he was a true professional, he will be sadly missed.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
