Ellen (Nellie) GRAY
(née McGrath)

Greenacres, Dundalk, Louth

Peacefully, in the tender and dedicated care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Beloved wife of the late James (Gene), mother of Barbara, Emmeline, Ian and Jim, daughter of the late Thomas and Ita and sister of Rose (Murphy, Dublin) and the late Bernadette, Jack, Colm, Hughie, Seamus, Pat, Tom, Charlotte, May and Briege. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, sons, sons-in-law Martin (McGuill) and John (Closier), grandchildren Jade (Jade's husband Russell), Michael, Sarah, Conor, Nicole, Ryan, Caitlyn and Benjamin, great grandchildren James, Isabella, Henry and Jazmine, sister and her husband Robert, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Due to current restrictions on numbers at funeral ceremonies, Nellie’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of her family and close friends only on Wednesday, July 7th in St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 11am.

There will be an opportunity for the community to show support and to remember Nellie by being present on the route, socially distanced, as the funeral cortege leaves her home on Wednesday at 10.30am, driving via Avenue Road, Hill Street Bridge, Stapleton Place, The Crescent, McEntee Avenue, pausing at her family home in Mulholland Avenue, before continuing to the Cathedral. After Mass,  the cortege will continue via Town Centre to St. Patrick’s Cemetery for burial.

 

 

In order to continue to keep everyone safe, please adhere to social distancing, wear a face covering and refrain from handshaking and hugging.
