Aidan Murtagh

The death has occurred of Aidan Murtagh, Knockroe, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and formerly of Lisphillip, Ballinameen, Co. Roscommon - 2nd March 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his family in the wonderful care of the staff at Aras Mathair Phoil. He is predeceased by his parents Edward and Mary, sisters Maureen Enright (Ballinameen) and Veronica Dowd (Ballinagare), brothers Eamon (Birmingham), John (Cork), and Henry (Dublin), infant brother and sister, Patrick and Josephine and his brothers-in-law Clarrie and Noel. Aidan will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, brothers Joe (Ballinameen) and Cyril (Birmingham), sister-in-law Phil, brothers-in-law Sean and Charlie, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours, friends and his loyal canine companion Lily.

Aidan will be reposing at Gaynor’s Funeral Home, Castlerea from 5pm to 7pm on Monday evening with removal afterwards to St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea. Mass of the Resurrection at 11am on Tuesday followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
