Bernard K Higgins

The death has occurred of Bernard (Bernie) K. Higgins, Killasolan, Mountbellew, Ballinasloe, County Galway, peacefully at his home in the tender care and presence of his loving and devoted family, in his 92nd year. Bernie predeceased by his sister Christina, and brothers Tommie, Mick, Hugh, Jimmy, Eddie and PJ.

Bernie will be deeply missed by his loving wife Margaret (Peggy), sons Michael, Hugh and John, daughters Bernadette and Kate, adored grandchildren Caoimhe, Maeve, Orla, Hannah, Alex, Conor, Jack, Tom and Brian, daughters-in-law Marianne and Irene, sons-in-law Pat, Paul and Niall, his sisters Mary, Ann and Kathleen, brothers John and Frank, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

                                May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Bernie will repose at Caltra Community Centre on Thursday the 21st of October from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Bernie’s funeral cortège will leave his home at 11:30am on Friday morning for mass at 12 noon in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Caltra followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. All those attending are asked to please respect social distancing guidelines, refrain from shaking hands and wear a mask. 

Due to Government and HSE guidelines regarding covid restrictions, attendance at Bernie's Service is restricted to 50% capacity.

The Higgins family would like to thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.
