Brendan O’Brien (Fr. Murphy Square and formerly of O’Brien’s Bicycle Shop, James’s Street, Kilkenny City) peacefully at this residence on Sunday 16th November, 2025, surrounded by his loving and caring family. Predeceased by his devoted wife Ann.
Brendan will be forever missed by his son John, daughter-in-law Kathleen and adored grandchildren Karen, Aoife, Jason and their partners Ray, Mossie and Shaina, extended family, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
MAY BRENDAN REST IN PEACE
Brendan will repose in Shasby’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny City on Tuesday 18th November, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.15pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (19th) in St. Mary’s Cathedral at 11am followed by burial in Foulkstown Cemetery.

Brendan’s Funeral Cortege will walk from his residence Wednesday morning at 10.30am to St. Mary’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 11am
The Family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff in The Carlow/Kilkenny Homecare Team, G.P Dr Conall Mac Conmara, Ayrfield Medical Centre and The Public Health Nursing Staff for all their care and support given to Brendan and his family during his illness.
