We are really sad at Andy's passing as he was so full of stories and memories of people and life long past in the village. He was a long-time friend of my father Noel and I grew up hearing stories of their escapades and mischief as young men. From when I was a child, I have fond memories of Andy, Mena and their mother in the shop. A special treat was to be allowed to go in to buy a 7p lucky bag which was only available in the village in Quinn's shop. Our sincere sympathy to the Quinn family on your sad loss of Andy. Condolences. Andy was a lovely man. Fond memories of him cheerfully delivering Wallis's bread around the area for 30 years. And pleasantly relaxing with a smoke outside the house in Castletown with his faithful dog by his side, both happy to chat with anyone passing by.

Very sorry to hear of the sad passing of Andy Quinn, my mother and father's neighbour in Castletown for years. He was a gentle and kind soul who allways had a smile and a hello when you called to Castletown as he was sitting outside on the window-ledge with his beloved dog.

A longstanding name in the village, Quinns shop; where we spent our few pence on sweets or ice cream. The door bell on the shop door alerted Mena ,Andy or Mary to a customer entering the shop. Pre bypass ,Quinns was a busy grocery & fuel shop ,many's the daily delivery van stopped there.
Andy was a familiar face for many years on Walliss bread van ,delivering bread & cakes to all the local villages.He had a clear recall on local history,local families & their ancestory; a keen gardener & fisherman, he loved walking his jack russel or sitting on his window sill watching the locals go by.
May he have eternal rest in heaven .
