To Ann, Dara, Ciara, Tadhg, Anna and extended family, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the very sad loss of Bernard. I loved singing alongside him in our choir, but really treasured our regular coffees together in Lazy Days when I got to know him better and enjoyed his company immensely. He is sorely missed.

It was with great sadness that I heard tonight, at the annual performance of Dun Laoghaire Choral Society's Handel's Messiah, that Bernard had passed from this world. I offer my sincere sympathies to his family. Bernard was a great character and he captured many happy moments at our social events with his cool camera, all of us smiling at him, why.. because he was smiling at us. Thanks for capturing those special moments for us Bernard and for adding to them. Rest in peace. It was a pleasure to know you.

Deepest sympathy to Pat, Bernard family and the extended Murphy family on the death of Bernard. Such a loss after the passing of your sister Angela so recently. I watched the Celebration of Bernard's life on webcam it was beautiful and a lovely tribute to him. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

On behalf of Dun Laoghaire Choral Society (DLCS), I wish to convey our deepest sympathy to the family, relatives and cherished friends of Bernard, who was a member of our choir for many years. He was a former Secretary and Chair of the choir, roles he excelled at, not just because of his musical knowledge and ability but also because of his unique personality which endeared him to everyone. His exceptional tenor voice was a joy to listen to, not just in a choral setting but at the many parties we had where Bernard was there to the last with some special song, sung with feeling and enthusiasm. I was happy to encounter him at one of our concerts last year, where I told him we still missed his presence and hoped that he might return sometime. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

I remember Bernard well from long ago when we used to go on holidays to my sister Mary. We had many wonderful evenings of fun and laughter. Bernard was always so funny and used to have us all in stitches. We will always remember Bernard with much affection.
