Sending you love and hugs Gráinne.
Such lovely childhood memories with you, your family and your dad, with his sense of humour, strong political beliefs, the songs and the guitar playing and how he'd intensely hold your eye while belting out a tune, his inventions, building the fireplace in the back room of your house... loads of random memories have come flooding back since I heard the sad news of his passing.
He was always immensely proud of his kids and no doubt, his gorgeous grandkids were the apple of his eye in later years.
Sending love to lovely Ger, Bronwyn, Jules and Brian. Thinking of you all and hoping the strength your Dad has instilled in you, helps you through this time. Be kind to yourselves.

Rest peacefully Brian.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my great friend Brian . We first crossed paths over forty years ago on the shop floor in Unidare. He did not realise at that time he was what the young people now call an influencer, not in the fashion sense but his opinion on politics, religion and music, he was in his element he could influence anybody. Now he is in the university where he could have been all his life with his knowledge and intellect. I don’t know if they have a device that can measure the essence of a person but if they put one on Brian the needle would go off the scale.Brian was bursting with character a wonderful person to have as a friend.
— Anto Byrne
