Bríd McGonagle

So saddened to hear the news of Brids’ passing. I worked with her many years ago in GOSH and have fond memories of her.
An absolute lady and brilliant nurse, she will be sadly missed.

I will always fondly remember what a fabulous nurse Brid was. So kind, gentle, softly spoken and caring but yet never shy to stand up and advocate for her patients. She was a wonderful role model for us all. I feel truly blessed to have worked along side her for so many years and count her as a friend. Rest in peace beautiful lady.

So very sad to hear of the loss of Brid, she was such a lovely lady. My first job after qualifying as a nurse was CICU and feeling very daunted Brid always made me smile and looked after me. Forever in my thoughts xx

I had the absolute pleasure and privilege to work alongside her at CICU at GOSH as I walked into the unit as a newly qualified staff nurse and Brid took me under her wing, shared her incredible knowledge and her passion for the job. We didn’t work together and met through mutual friends - yet the warmth and friendship this wonderful lady shared made everyone feel like they had been friends for years. You will be so missed - although your amazing character means you will always be remembered with smiles after the tears subside.

I met Brid a couple years back and not met her since left we left secondary school, she was in her element walking the silver strand. Always a smile on her face and too young to leave this world. I worked with Bríd for many years at Great Ormond Street hospital. A truly inspiring nurse with a huge heart. She spoke to patients with such kindness and always knew the right thing to say in the worst of circumstances. The world has definitely lost one of its best, but I am proud to have been apart of her story.

Brid was such a kind and generous person gone far too soon. My sincere condolences to her family and all those who loved her for her beautiful spirit. Brid will be sadly missed.

I feel so lucky to have known Brid for my entire life. I have memories of holidays, picking me up from school, countless dinners and parties and all of these I will carry in my heart until I meet her again in paradise.
Brid was truly one of earth’s walking angels. She had a heart of gold and was beautiful inside and out. Whenever anyone needed her in our family, she was there with her calming voice and advice to make everyone feel at ease.
If only I had another chance to have a conversation with you, dear Brid, and tell you how much you’re loved and what an inspiration you were!! If only I knew my last hug was the last, I would have held on that little tighter! My little Sienna only met you a handful of times but you even impacted her by her knowing your picture and she talks about you with a smile!
I’m going to miss Brid’s warmth and her kindness so much. May she rest in eternal peace. She certainly will be walking by our sides everyday!
