Bridie Tannian

My sincere sympathy and prayerful support to all who mourn for Bridie. A wonderful person, a superb educator, a self sacrificing leader and a great follower Of the Lord. May she enjoy a hundredfold reward for all her goodness

I was in MLE in the sixties..Miss Tannian was a wonderful teacher ..very fair....May she rest in peace.

Mount Lourdes 1986-1993

Truly saddened to hear about the death of Miss Tannian. I was a pupil at Mount Lourdes from 1955 and did A level French (among a lot of subjects in those days!). Knowledge of French served us well as we holidayed in France a lot and our son speaks pretty fluent French. We are all scientists though. My last two visits were to Aix en Provence in last 3 months where granddaughter is doing a university year -her degree is in maths and French. Miss Tannian, perfect teacher, remembered forever, made lasting impression on me and my family. Condolences to all her family and friends.

Sincere sympathy to the family circle of Miss Tannian (Bridie) on her recent death.
Miss Tannian was my French teacher in Mount Lourdes and she was an inspirational and dedicated teacher. She loved her subject and inspired thousands of students like myself to share her love of the French language.
I can still visualise her tall, slim figure,encased in her black gown,striding at a fast pace into the classroom. She began every class with a prayer in French followed by "Asseyez-vous mes filles s'il vous plait" and the class then began.
May her gentle and kind soul rest in peace in her beloved Kinvara. We were so blessed to know her and learn from her.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Tannian family on the passing of Miss Tannian (Bridie).
She was my form teacher in Lower and upper 6th in MLE ('89-'91) and was always so proud of her girls. Never did she have a cross word, but we knew the boundaries and with her imposing stature we knew better than to cross the line!
We scarpered when we saw her, including when we made a failed attempt to mitch out of school, the trim on our blazers gave us away and who was on our tail only Miss Tannian, the local main post office wasn't the ideal place to hide out and our afternoon of freedom soon lost its appeal!
She took great delight and pride in hearing about our career paths after school and I enjoyed meeting her in St Michaels bookshop in later years, ironically that "skivver" became a Post Primary teacher too!
Miss Tannian's kindness to me has never been forgotten and may her gentle soul rest in eternal peace with her loved ones who have gone before her.
Our Lady of Lourdes pray for her. 🙏
