Only knew Con from afar as a showjumping fan. How magnificently he represented himself his family his nation and us in the arena. Whatever lies ahead, may it include a decent horse a few poles and a sympathetic course builder. Happy galloping Captain Power.

To Margaret and family my sincere sympathy to you all on Cons passing. I was in school in Gormanston with Con ( and Ted and Pat). I was delighted that our Past Pupils were able to honour Con as our Sportsman of the year after one of his Aga Khan victories and to have been present at their brilliant triple Aga Khan cup wins in the RDS .
Con was always good company when I would meet him there in later years or in Croke Park. Sympathy as well to Ted and Pat and the rest of Cons Wexford family.May he rest in peace ( and hopefully there are some good show jumpers up above )
