Deirdre was fabulous and so very likeable. Whether it was her wry, dry, wit, the twinkle of mischief in her eye, her very articulate use of English, her formal good manners and impeccable sportsmanship - encountering Deirdre at the bridge table was always a pleasure. Chatting to Deirdre after a bridge game was an even more positive experience. Deirdre had wide ranging interests but more than anything else had the rare of gift of being genuinely interested in other people and the ability to set people instantly at ease. Deirdre was great company and easy company. We, her bridge playing associates and friends, are much the poorer for her passing. Sincere sympathy to Deirdre's family and close friends. May Deirdre who has left us too soon, rest in peace.
— Maura King, Ian Kingston and Phedra Kingston
