So very sad to hear of the passing of my cousin Denis. We last met over a wonderful extended lunch in 2016.
Back in 1958(?) My brother Martin and I were staying in Schull and together with Denis and John we shared an adventure in a very old rental car going over the Gap of Dunloe in the opposite direction to accepted travel mixing with the donkeys coming up!!!! Not popular but fun. Great memories.
Our thoughts are with Finola and all the family in this sad moment.
Love from Kevin and Margaret Collins

So saddened to hear this awful news earlier this week. My deepest condolences to Finola, Maeve, Deirdre, Ronan and extended families at this exceptionally sad and difficult time. I have the fondest memories of being part of the Courtyard 'family' where Denis and Finola were fantastic employers and cared for and appreciated each and every one of their staff, whether in the bakery, kitchen, bar, cafe or shop. We had sone great staff outings to Barleycove at end of the busy season. I remember Denis as an exceptionally hard working man who was kind, clever, and very interesting. He had such passion for his busineess. I last met Denis last summer amd we had a great long chat where he talked proudly of all his family and showed me pictures of his grandchildren who he clearly adored. We will never forget you Denis x
