Denis Scanlon

I only heard this sad news today, I’m shocked, he was always so active, walking to church and tending to his lovely garden.
Was the friendliest gentleman, a happy person always had a kind word.
He will be sadly missed.

I have lilies in my garden from bulbs he kindly gave me.
They don’t make them like him anymore, mores the pity.

We were so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Uncle Denis. Our condolences to Aunty Patricia, Jeanette, Nuala and families.

Have such great memories of Uncle Denis - for me they are always tied to my Dad. The two of them heading off to Croke Park together from Granny’s house in Cabra on Sundays to watch the Dubs in football or Clare and Tipp in the hurling. It was a bonus if they got into Dalymount on the way home for free to watch the end of a Bob’s match. I hope they are now reunited up above and can watch the games together again.

We'd meet him often as he went to get his paper or chat about his beautiful garden that he kept in such wonderful condition - what green fingers he had. I fondly remember the allotments that Uncle Denis had and how many times we enjoyed the fruits of his labor. I particularly enjoyed his onions and he always made sure I was well supplied.
