I remember Dessie when I was a pupil in Scoil Mochua. He was a man who was determined and dedicated to his work. My father always had the chat with him. Deepest sympathy to the family.

Dessie was the first person I sat down with for a cuppa and chat on my first morning in Scoil Mochua. And what a welcome! A true gentleman, kind, generous and warm who would help you with any task and always with a smile. His jokes always had me laughing and his easy manner a pleasure to be around. I’ve great memories of Des and all his colourful stories . So sad to hear you’re gone. Heaven has gained a gem . Rest easy Dessie. My condolences to all your family and friends.

I had the privilege of working with Dessie for a long number of years in Scoil Mochua. No task was too much for Dessie despite the numerous requests - so obliging and all jobs carried out with a smile.
Dessie was an unique person, knowledgeable, witty and entertaining and modest with it - never a dull moment when in his company - one of a kind. A true gentleman and a great source of information - he will be very much missed.

So sorry to hear of the passing of des, one of lifes gents and loved by all he came into contact with. Des had a super sense of humour, a wicked sense of fun, and a brain full of knowledge in so many areas. he was a sportsman who knew all about animals and animal welfare. he knew the history of Celbridge, like his school boy prayers, loved Kildare teams and all the famous footballers he read about and followed on radio and tv.
loved the famous sportdays in scoil mochua, and after a generous chat, would escape by saying, must fly, big boss might be looking out the window, class action...............sleep well des..........u will be missed by many..................
