Condolences to Áine and all the family on the passing of Diarmuid . He was a colleague, friend and mentor to me for many years in Iarnród Éireann, both in Limerick Junction and Dublin. A gifted engineer who had a wonderful way with people.

Áine, Naoise & Finín - so sorry to hear about Diarmuid’s passing. Fond memories of those Saturday afternoons playing football on Dollymount Strand all those years ago. Suaimhneas síoraí.

It came as a great surprise to me earlier this week to hear of Diarmuid’s death.
He and I were colleagues in Irish Rail, North Wall, for a number of years. We also worked together on a short CIE Consult assignment in Eastern Europe.
Diarmuid was a real gentleman, always in good humour and easy to get along with.
I offer my very deepest sympathy to his wife and family on their enormous loss.

I knew Diarmuid as a kind and thoughtful person and a really loving and dedicated grandad, the best grandad a boy could have asked for. He will be terribly missed by Cian and by myself.
