I was shocked and so saddened to hear of the death of Edel. I was so very fond of her.

She was the funniest, loveliest little girl who grew into a lovely woman and good friend.

I had a lifetime of laughs with the Sullivans, on Sth. Gt. George’s Street. I loved all the family, from the laughs I had with my good friend Miriam to Mrs. Kennedy getting Padre Pio’s glove for me and Mr. Sullivan getting me to play tricks on people, to give himself a laugh. Michael and I had great oul chats together and of course Dolly worked in George’s Street for a while but over the years I got to know you all so well.

Of course Thomas, I got to know you on George’s Street, too. I was the one always out talking to Edel, Michael or Mr. Sullivan.

My heart is broken for all of you, I am so, so sorry. I’m not very well myself and couldn’t attend the funeral. I would have loved to convey my sympathy personally.

You’re all in my thoughts, Thomas, Miriam, Michael and Catherine/Dolly. Wishing you the strength to get through these very hard days.

Edel, too lovely and too young, taken far too soon.
I hope we’ll meet again. ♥️

So sorry to hear of the sad passing of Edel. I knew Edel from George's Street. She was always so friendly and funny. I was honoured to attend her wedding also. Condolence to Thomas and the Sullivan family.

To Thomas and Edel's family, many relations and friends. Edel came into our lives when she caught the eye of our Thomas. It was a romance that blossomed into marriage.
Her quick wit always kept us on our toes. Many a laugh was had when herself and our late mam (Eileen) sat together. She was a very welcome and loved part of our family.
It is truely a small world when Liz met Edel for the first time having remembered her as a paper seller in the city.
Thomas fell head over heels and the two were hardly ever apart. His love of music and dancing was something they shared. Many a night he spent strutting his stuff on the dance floor but always his eyes on the love of his life.
Edel was very generous and thoughtful and she was always thinking of others.
Her last few years were hard but if anything it brought herself and Thomas closer. True love is the only observation.
As the spark in Edel finally faded on Sat we can only hope that she is sharing a pint and a laugh and watching down on us.
Her biggest regret is most lilely that she is missing out on the celebration of her life in the Club on Fri evening.

i only knew Edel briefly when she was in the hospital with my mother. She was a kind and gracious woman and very funny. She was a good friend to all especially my mam and ill always be grateful to her for that. My deepest condolences to all her family and husband. Rip edel you will be missed x
