I had the pleasure of staying with Uncle Eddie and Aunty Josie a few years back. They were the loveliest people, and they were very focused on helping me understand my ancestry (my Mum was Josie's sister Mary). They gave me a new appreciation of what it is to be a parent. Uncle Eddie took me for a night out to the local nature reserve, where, on the first Tuesday of each month people gather to sing songs and tell stories. It was a really wonderful night. Uncle Eddie had a great voice and was clearly very popular. I was treated like an honoured guest because I was HIS guest. Many stories and songs that night made me truly appreciate what it is to be Irish and to be honoured to be descended from such people. I'd also like to say that Uncle Eddie was just the nicest man. I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm happy he can rest in peace with Aunty Josie now.
