Ned was one of the most gentle persons I met while working here at the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg. I have fond memories of those days, even though we have never really worked together on the same tasks. His kindness, his genuine smile, his professionalism, his openness to hear and help others were his trademarks in the house. I was shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. To Ned’s family, I can only express my sympathy and say that he was someone who touched in such a positive way so many lives that his memories will last long after his departure.
