EILEEN O'DONOVAN

We are so very sad to hear of Eileen’s passing. She was the dearest friend of our late mother, Barbara, and she was always so gracious to us when we were visiting Cork. Our deepest condolences to her family. She is greatly missed.

Deepest condolences to the O'Donovan family on the sad passing of Eileen. I remember going into Bolgers as a child with my mum & granny and Eileen always served us! She was a lady! Always pleasant, and going that bit extra for customers! Sadly, her like will not be seen again!

Eileen my world was made bigger knowing you. You were my grandmother’s cousin and were kind to my mother and siblings when staying in Ireland during the blitz. And you always kept in touch with us Canadians. I’ll never forget when as an adult you showed me all around Cork City and suddenly you realized “I can’t walk like this I’m an old lady I’ve been walking like I was 20 for an hour”. Actually Eileen youthfulness was what I often heard when you spoke - there was an enthusiasm in your voice. Also am very glad to have seen you post pandemic. And thanks again for the Italian book right before I went there and I thought of you when in Florence. My mother sends a big hug and as this is starting to feel like am writing a letter to you, not a goodbye, I’d better sign off. We love you Eileen and will see you on the other side. Eileen was a fairhful member of the Holy Trinity Choir for many years and as well as being a great singer she was good company and always had time to listen to us all. May she rest in peace now and sing sweet melodies with the angels.
