My brother and I offer our condolences to Ellen’s family. Both she and Dermot showed only kindness to our late mother, Peggy, on her many visits to Kilgarvan over the years. Ellen (Ellie) was always welcoming whenever we stayed in their comfortable and happy home or in Dromneycolman. What was most memorable was the constant banter back and forth and always great humour. Sadly Covid interrupted our routine of visiting Kilgarvan and yourselves.

Recalling happy memories of Fleadhanna Cheoil in Kilgarvan and the fun and craic in Coffeys with Dermot and Ellen and lovely meals especially the lovely fresh salmon salads.

Have only known Ellie as my better half’s adopted second mother. Discovered what a blessing, joy, and legend she has been to the Coffey and Lynch families and their extended families.

She was a true lady, one of the kindest, friendliest, most hospitable person I ever met. There was always a warm welcome from her and Dermot anytime I had the privilege of visiting them in Kilgarvan. The greatest legacy she and Dermot left is their family possess the same attributes of kindness, love and generosity. You will be greatly missed. R.I.P.
