I was shocked and saddened to hear of Enda's passing. He was so lovely to meet at work, always a smile and a few words. One of the good ones. My sincere condolences to Breda, Fiona, Seamus and Michael.

Thoughts on Enda Breen – the Tall Man

It was with great sadness that I heard of Enda’s sudden passing. I had only known Enda since mid-2025. My first impression was that Enda was a tall man. Shortly thereafter, it became quite apparent that Enda was a “Tall Man” in another, more important sense. Enda was a deeply considerate man of immense character, sincerity, genuineness, kindness and warmth. I have met many tall persons over the years, but very few in the other “Tall” sense that Enda embodied. The other notes placed here indicate that I am not alone in thinking of Enda as a “Tall Man” in the character sense. My deepest and sincerest condolences to Breda, the Breen children and grandchildren.

Enda was an absolute gentleman and will be sorely missed by his cousins Michael and Eamonn Doyle. May he rest in peace.

To Enda’s family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of Enda’s passing. As a student in WIT, I often met him, and he was always such a gentleman — warm, kind, and we loved the chats. His friendly smile in the mornings and his genuine way with people made a real difference to my days on campus.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this very difficult time. Enda will be fondly remembered by so many of us who were lucky enough to meet him.

I have fond memories of Enda calling into us in Shanbally on his cycles from Waterford to Dungarvan, I remember being amazed when younger that he could cycle that distance in one day!

He always had a kind word to say and was a pure gentleman. Even meeting him only a few months ago while he was walking his dog and he always had a smile on his face. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Enda was an incredible man. Friendly, interested and interesting.

Growing up - I would have often been in and around Enda’s house - as friends with his children. Enda was always incredibly welcoming to all. I had great experiences and memories around times like Halloween.

Enda was always so interested to know how the person he was talking was doing. When playing football with Michael, growing up, Enda was always wanting to know how people were enjoying playing.

While working in SETU I witnessed just how helpful he was with everybody. He took real pride in everything he done.
