Sincere condolences to the family of Father Ray. He was our beloved chaplain for many years .He played a very important role in not alone the life of the school but also in Blakestowm parish . He was very popular with staff and students alike and was a great influence for good on everybody with whom he came into contact . On a personal level I considered him among my dearest friends and a great support to me in my job and my life in general . He performed the marriage ceremony of my eldest daughter, christened my first grandchildren and conducted the funeral of my mother . I. Will always be in his debt for his great support and kindness . Though not big in stature he was a giant in so many ways . He will be sadly missed . I am so sorry that I cannot be at his funeral . All the best dear friend . Your pal Victor.

Prayerful Sympathy to the O'Connell Family and the Servite Colleagues on the death of
Fr. Raymond. I note that he died between the Feast of the Assumption and the Feast of the Queenship of Our Lady. In his own life, Fr. Ray, a Servant of Mary would have often
spoken glorious things about our Mhuire Mháthair. "She is a sign of sure hope and comfort for God's pilgrim people" - as the Prayer to Our Lady of Knock describes her.
Fr. Ray - in the words of the Communion Prayer for the Feast of the Assumption "is brought to the glory of the resurrection."
— Fr. John Cullen (London).
