God bless you Frank, very sad news. Had only been speaking with him recently. A great trade unionist, who worked tirelessly for the people he represented. Had great times and respect for him. We had many meetings, occasions we fought, got deals done and enjoyed a drink together. May you be sipping on the finest Grand Marnier in heaven with Maura. Frank was an active member of the ICTU Health and Safety Committee where his knowledge and expertise particularly in relation to chemicals was appreciated by all. It is no doubt that this knowledge contributed to a safer workplace for many. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

(Also thinking of your wonderful mother Maura who died recently). Frank gave enthusiastic and sterling service to the Irish Labour movement and was a deeply committed and distinguished Chairperson of Dublin North East Labour Party for many years. Frank was always a very pleasant and supportive colleague and a great expert on all aspects of Labour law especially the regulations affecting the health and safety of workers. Sincere sympathy to the Barry family on the sad passing of Frank. I had the privilege of working with Frank on the Employment Appeals Tribunal. Frank was a man of great knowledge of employment law matters, which he brought from his union background. Despite his union background Frank was a very fair man and easy to work with.
He was also great company and many a pint we had together, over the years.

Unite was very saddened to learn of Frank’s passing. As an active member of TASS, MSF, Amicus and Unite, he was a stalwart of the trade union movement and will be deeply missed. Our deepest condolences to all Frank’s family and friends.

My sincere condolences on Frank's sad passing. I worked closely with Frank in IIRS in the late 70s and early 80s when we were constructing the Solar Pilot Test Facilty - and even went with him and colleague Paddy Moroney on an inspectiom tour of other such European facilities. I always kept in touch with Frank later in the subsequent agencies.
