Please accept our condolences on the passing of Frank. One of nature’s gentlemen. He was such a kind and welcoming man who always had a kind word to say in addition to his warm smile. He was ahead of his time. We always felt welcome visiting the Nugent household in no small part to the values that Frank and Bernie championed. Always warm always loving and as teenagers / young adults we were always treated as equals. Again, a man ahead of his time and great testament to Frank as a loving and kind person.

Who could forget Frank washing his cricket whites whilst simultaneously making us coffee!

What an amazing father to yourself, Sarah and Gillian.

With our fondest regards.
Tim &Adhaimhin.

Sympathy to all the family, and he'll be remembered always in Merrion.

Berni, Duncan and Gillian, sending you much love and condolences. Frank was definitely one of the best ! His loss will be felt hugely by so many.
The last of his siblings to go (28 years to the day when his big Sister Dorothy died).
Dorothy told us so many stories of Franks antics when he was little but always with so much love and affection.
Hopefully they’re all together wherever, talking of life in Adelaide Street and Frank “acting the maggot “ as usual.

Frank, I adored you ! The kindest loveliest man with the boldest grin and best fun in an uncle ever ! Hugs to you all. X Lizanne x x

On behalf of Sean, Terry, fellow residents and staff of St. Anthony’s nursing home, we offer our deepest sympathies to all who mourn Franks passing especially his wife and best friend, Berni, his daughter Gillian and son Duncan. We are thinking of you all at this sad time. Franks passing has certainly impacted us all here at St.Anthony’s… he was a shining light in all our lives, always smiling, always positive and up for a good laugh. Frank was the definition of a gentleman.. in every sense of the word… he had the most gentle personality, was so kind and considerate to all around him and was always happy. His true love in life up to the very end of his days was his devoted wife Berni. On a daily basis, we would all stop to admire as Frank would open doors for Berni or pull out her chair for dinner and in her absence would do nothing but talk about her. He saved his biggest, brightest smiles for her and we were all a little jealous. Frank loved his sports especially rugby and every now and then would reminisce about his rugby days. He loved nothing more than to watch reruns of old rugby matches especially of the All Blacks and on occasions, a bit of cricket too. In Franks short time with us, we got to know him and love him, a real loveable rogue. Frank we hope you are at peace, and enjoying the comforts of your eternal rewards. You are missed and will be remembered and talked about often.
Rest in peace Frank.
— St. Anthony’s nursing home

Dear Bernie,
Greatly saddened to hear the news of Frank's passing. We became good friends from our first day at work in the GRE nearly 70 years ago due to our shared following of Man U. and of course cricket.
Hoping your memories of all the good times help you, Duncan and Gillian get through the coming days and weeks.

Joe and Marion
— Joe (Smith)
My deepest condolence to all Frank’s family & friends. He was a really lovely person and a wholehearted cricketer.
As captain of the 5ths for a number of years, back 25 years ago, How well I remember him saying: - “Give me one more over if I take a wicket or bowl a maiden”. With the fondest of memories, Goodbye Frank.
— Andy Irvine
I’ll never forget Frank’s smile, his devilment, how he enjoyed his newspapers with a pot of good coffee, and how he loved his ride-on lawnmower like most men love their car.
Above all, I’ll remember Frank’s kindness and his utter devotion to Bernie. Farewell to a very special man and deepest condolences to Gillian and family. x
— Noreen Murphy
