The Ryan family were such a huge part of our childhood and of the Ard na Mara memories. I loved Frank Ryan, father of my best friends growing up. I’ll never forget the school runs, new cars, love for his wife, children and grandchildren, love for his dogs, the ‘investment’ mini in the garage, the sardonic wit and wonderful kindness of this man. Thank you for being such a great influence on our early years. Always a pleasure to sit and hear the stories. It’s truly remarkable how the integrity of a person can live on through their loved ones. Although I never had the chance to meet Frank Ryan, I feel like I know him through the heartfelt stories shared by his incredible daughter, Cliona. Working with Cliona in Sydney, I could see the remarkable qualities she inherited from her father. Her actions and character reflect his kindness, strength, integrity, and wisdom. It’s a poignant reminder that even if we don’t meet someone personally, their legacy can touch our lives deeply through the people they leave behind. Frank’s spirit clearly lives on in Cliona, and it’s touching to see how his values continue to inspire and influence those around her.

While I offer my deepest sympathies to Cliona, her mother, and their broader family, we can also find solace in knowing that Frank is now free from earthly infirmities and at peace, as his faith fervently guided him on earth.

Rest well, Frank – a life well lived and a job well done.
