My deepest condolences to Jean, Kevin, Alan and family. I was partnered up on nights with Ger for a number of years back in the Orchard and I will never forget him. He was a hard working, decent, genuine gentleman with a brilliant sense of humour. We had great craic working together and Ger's banter and support always made the shift go by quickly. I was a young man at the time and Ger was definitely one of those positive role models that influenced me in a good way and put me in the right direction in life. I cannot thank him enough for that. I have no doubt he touched many people's lives for the better throughout all the years he worked with the community. I hope that despite the great shock and sadness at the loss of Ger, his family can find some comfort and pride in the fact that he was a great man and friend to many people, was held in the highest respect and regard and will never be forgotten. RIP Ger

I am very sad to hear of Gerry's untimely passing. I worked with Gerry on night duty in Dalkey. He was so professional, pleasant to work with, kind, caring and an absolute gentleman. My deepest and sincere sympathy to his wife and family.

I am extending my sympathy to gerard sister patricia brothers jimmy peter past colleagues of the orchard( h.se )he was loved by all the staff residents caring kind and devoted alot of his time assisting with any issues in the orchard it was sad parting on the closures of the home .
