Although Greg grew up in Dublin Ireland, I only met him for the first time in Sydney Australia in 1990. We were all in Australia on our one year working holiday Visas. I was with my friends who I grew up with in Inchicore and one of those friends is Val, Greg's lovely lovely wife. We all used to meet up in the Rocks in Sydney or the Famous Tea Gardens in Bondi Junction. This is where we all got to know Greg and discover what a wonderful, kind, caring individual he was. Plus he was such good craic! He would have us all in stitches. When we would be driving around Sydney or up to the Blue Mountains and Greg was driving, he would have music on in the car and he would be focused on the road but dancing at the same time with just a small backward and forwards movement of his head, if you can imagine it, keeping with the rhythm! One of my favorite memories of Greg. We all loved Greg. But alas Val stole his heart and they were inseparable. One night at a party in the Hilton Hotel in Sydney he dragged a guy from work along and introduced me to him. That guy became my husband and we have two lovely kids together all because of Greg. I am so grateful and lucky to have known Greg Gorman for over thirty years. Gone but never forgotten. Thinking of Val and Liam at this sad sad time and his Mum, and all his family.
