I was very sad to read of the death of Humphrey. Being a 2nd bass myself I have great memories of his company at our rehearsals. His fine voice was a real asset to the choir, but in particular I recall his terrific sense of humour which was loved by all the choir. Condolences to all the Hartnett family and their connections on Humphtey's passing. May he rest in peace.

Spoke to him by phone regularly over the past couple of years and reminisced about our meetings in the Middle East during he and dear Ann my first cousin time there back in the 1980s.
I felt he was not well over the past few weeks when he didn’t return my calls.

I have such fond memories of the great friendship he and Anne, together with Brendan and Eileen McDonald offered my late wife Patricia and myself when we moved into No 12 about 1975.
