Irene allowed her body to be used for research into cancer over the past number of years and we now pray that her contribution and all the pain and suffering she endured will bring the date of the cure closer.
We met 59 years ago when we both arrived in Dublin as two innocent young girls. We shared flats until Irene returned to Donegal and I returned home to Kildare. She loved her trips back to Dublin every year for our reunion with Peg and Sheila.
Ill miss our discussions on farming and the state of the world and updates on our families, but im sure we will all get an odd prompt from her heavenly home.
