Jack O'Dowd

My deepest sympathies to John, Thomas, Sinead and to all of Jack’s family. Jack was a unique and special person. It seems like a million years ago when we were all young lads celebrating Jack and Margaret’s wedding anniversary in the Swanky all those years ago, since the great laughs had at Pajo’s (Thomas) 21st birthday party in Donies bar, listening to Jack playing the harmonica or singing Shanagolden in Savages or in the Square on New Year’s Eve, meeting Margaret and Jack after Ferry Rangers’ games etc. It makes us realize how special and fun those times were. I hope that you can find comfort and solace in the countless happy memories you have of your Dad. He is re-united now with Margaret as they both enjoy their eternal reward together. May he rest in peace.

Thank you so much for your own condolence here to me on rip.ie and for assisting to escort my own late Father Eamon Horan out of St.Johns Church so recently, on December 9th, just gone, along with great Kerry footballers of fame Ger O'Keeffe and Mikey Sheehy and of course our old colleague and great friend of Dads, now retired sports editor of fame with The Kerryman newspaper, Mr. John Barry.

You are a gentleman as I believe your own Dad was.
