We are deeply saddened to hear of Jackie’s passing. Our sincerest sympathies to Mary, the Mons family and extended family. We have had the pleasure of having two of Jackie’s boats since 1991 and we indeed were working with him for several days on one of those boats in the last month. We had quality time with him during this period. Wishing Mary and all the family the spiritual and physical strength in coping with the loss of Jackie.

Sincere condolences to Mary and her family. I had the pleasure of visiting Jackie many times for his advice, which he freely gave, as I was fascinated by watching him working on his latest lake boat. We can all admire his craftsmanship as we watch his boats pass by on Lough Corrib. Jackie was a true gentleman and was respected by all. A sad loss to Oughterard!

Sincere Condolences to Mary and the Mons family on the passing of Jackie. My memories of Jackie from my early years in Glann is of a master boat builder. From the years he apprenticed with the great Tommy Mallen to setting up his own boat building in Glann. It was lovely to see Mary working with him at his master craft. He is one the last master craftsmen of the Corrib boat. Always very pleasant to meet on my visits to Glann.
