Oh, that's so sad, I feel a bit guilty personally, all those years I was in America in the late '90s as I never went to visit him there in Florida after all the kind things he did for me in Babylon, Long Island when I was on the "J1" visa in the Mid 80's.
I was so privileged to be with James and Rosemary and the boys for a good three months then. John was serving at that time and I was treated for all my time there as one of the family ). I hope to somehow (though now thousands of miles away from the USA and Ireland ) contact the remaining family in the next few weeks. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Deepest Sympathy to all The Clarke Family on the passing of James , a true gentleman.
My late Father Dick was a good friend of James's brothers and I remember visiting the Clarkes house in Beltra on Sundays and often returned home with a special bottle of " Beltra Brew" . James also called to visit us on a few occasions when he was home on holidays.
I was also invited by James to spend a weekend in his home in Babylon NYC when I spent a year in America in 1978 , and I was very well treated and received by all the family , who also brought me sking for a day .
Great memories
May James RIP
