Deepest sympathy on your loss to all of Jim's family. I had the pleasure of working with Jim on what turned out to be his final book, launched at the end of 2023, about awards made by philanthropists in the national education system. His commitment to research, the breadth of his knowledge and interests, and his gentle but clear determination to bring the project to conclusion were impressive. An honour to have worked with this gentleman who is a loss in the fields of education, history and scholarship generally, but especially so to his family. RIP.
