When he came to work in Dublin many years ago.he used to call to my parents Billy and Kathleen Harrahill every couple of weeks .They loved him coming and had great chats about Drom and Templemore and i loved him arriving as he always had a bag of scotts clan toffees for me .Rip Jim

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this sad news Martin, Liz, Seamus and of course Mrs. Fogarty. I remember Mr. Fogarty, when I was a teenager in Glendoher, as a lovely, kind and smiling man, a real gent. May he rest in peace, my thoughts are with you all.

A gentle man, and a gentleman - that’s how I remember Jim Fogarty. My heart goes out to Lillian, the woman he adored, who will surely feel the loss of his presence every day. My thoughts are with Elizabeth, Seamas and Martin, and my hopes are that through the precious memories they will continue to feel his presence in their lives.

Uncle Jim was a gentle giant. Much is said about his love of gardens, bridge, golf and hurling but he and I shared two other loves - Telecom and performing. Jim was a proud Telecom Eireann employee and he was an inspiration to me when I started my career in telecommunications. I remember starting out and being at a booth at a telecommunications conference. I was very nervous and Jim came and listened to my presentation and made me feel very comfortable, a lone woman in a sea of men. I was so grateful and loved looking out for him at events. Many will say he loved poetry, but truly he loved performing a recitation. He often wrote his own for family parties and he came alive when delivering them. He had no fear - he put his words out there with confidence and love. He will be remembered.
