He was such a lovely 'cool Uncle' (technically our cousin but we always called him Uncle Jimmy). Treasured memories of very happy times spent together with the Murphys/Murrays/Smiths in Aughrim St and Chapelizod. He was so kind to us all. Rest easy now Uncle Jimmy. Heaven has gained 'one of the best. x

Uncle Jim was a kind ,funny personable man who I’m sure will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

My deepest sympathy to all the Murphy family. I remember meeting Jim in my childhood in Chapelizod but got to meet him more often when Fergus called up to me with him in Drogheda. He was a truly remarkable man and age never proved a barrier to his love of tennis. One of life’s real gentleman, may you rest in peace Jim.

I was sad to hear of the passing of our Uncle Jim. When we visited him from Australia both in Chapelizod and in Bettystown, he and Maureen could not have been more welcoming. Jim had a great sense of humour and was always interested in how the family was doing Down Under. Sincere condolences to the family. He will be missed.

I am so sad to hear of Jim’s passing, he was such a lovely kind man and neighbour. Thinking of Jim today brings back so many fond memories of Belgrove Park with Jim & Dad either heading off to play a tennis match or celebrating the Dubs with all the kids on board.
How lucky were we to have had such great Dads and be brought up in such a great place as Belgrove. ❤️
