Throughout the years growing up on Allen Park Road, Derry was an integral and positive part of the fabric of what was a unique place to live. Positive, dutiful, soft natured, kind to all, forever inclusive, sharp, funny and with a great sense of humour; Derry will be unquestionably remembered with absolute fondness by all his Allen Park neighbours and friends. We were fortunate to have known Derry and furthermore blessed to have him as a neighbour. A lovely man.

My friend and I lived next door to Derry and Irene for a few years. A number of times, we came home to find Derry washing our cars or clearing our driveway of snow. Such kindness. If he saw we were having friends over, he'd call in with a bottle of wine. We just loved Derry and Irene. Such warm people who were made for each other.
