Sincere sympathy to Jim's family and to Noreen at this sad time. We shall all miss him very much in Ballycotton! He was a lovely neighbour and friend- always up for a chat and a great sense of humour! A true gentleman! May he rest in peace.

Our sincere sympathy to the Kiely family on the passing of your beloved father and grandfather Jim.Our paths crossed in the early seventies when the family lived and worked in Athlone. Jim was very much up for a challenge and was always willing to help whether in business or as a member and officer of Athlone RFC. Always up for a chat when we would meet after he had moved to Mayo where his business acumen and boundless energy were focused on setting up multi national companies and delivering high quality employment to that county. May he rest in peace
— Leo and Assumpta Galvin, Ballykeeran, Athlone
It is with a deep sadness that I have just learned of the death of Jim , my cherished former colleague in IDA-Ireland . His commitment to and passion for the economic progress of the West of Ireland during his IDA days was manifest in his energy and personality . It happily culminated in his transition to the role as Managing Director of Allergan in Westport where he was central to its remarkable growth and success . We shared many happy experiences during those years . My deepest sympathy to his son Jerome, daughters Ruth and Hilary and his partner , Noreen - you can be very proud of him .
— Padraic White
We were sad to hear of Jim’s death and convey our sincere sympathy to all who loved him. He was a great raconteur. We have fond memories of the Main Street, his late brothers Ted and Billy, his aunts Julia and Maureen. Jim will be a great addition to the Heavenly choir.
— Maurice and Mona Linehan, Millstreet.
To Jerome, Ruth, Hillary & Noreen. I was deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing while away last week.
I had the great pleasure of getting to know Jim in recent years when he became a great customer and friend through our business in Charleville.

He would often stop for a coffee and chat on his regular journeys from Westport to Ballycotton. He loved to recall the Millstreet of times gone by, the people, the places the memories. The characters, his old friends, John Neenan, Donal O Connor & my Grandfather Jacksie.
I could listen to Jim for hours, in fact i often probably did, a raconteur with wonderful wit, knowledge and experience.

It was hard not to be impressed by Jim's journey through life; education, sport, business & family. Starting out in a very different world of the 50's & 60's, stories about the days in Fords & later the Yanks in California, all told with a chuckle and that grin. A true gentleman, he made everything sound so simple, yet it was clear his business intellect and achievements were exceptional.

I'm delighted to have been lucky enough to meet Jim & Noreen in Highfield last year & I've no doubt his wonderful presence will live long in the hearts of his family and those mourning his great loss.

Rest In Peace Dear Jim
— Ronan Lucey Millstreet & Cork
