Sincere condolences to Aimée and family at this sad time. You are in my thoughts.
— Nicola Gill
Karen, Roy & family thinking of you all at this very sad time. Joan was a great Captain for the 14th Company Girls Brigade. We all have great memories and we all loved Joan we always said how lucky we were to have had Joan as captain. She will be missed by so many people. Joan will be always in our hearts. Rest in Peace
— Heather Jackson
Dear Karen and Roy, Mum as you know was a member of the bowls Club for many years. She not only held the position of Captain but was the permanent Secretary, she was so thorough and meticulous that nobody dare oppose her selection. She was a good listener and only spoke when she felt it was necessary and with a lot of sense. We miss her company already. Our thoughts are with you and your families.
— Members of Tullow Bowls Club
So sorry to hear of the passing of Joan. She was a wonderful lady and so committed to Girls' Brigade... The many GB events she attended she went around the room greeting all the leaders and girls with her friendly smile and asking how the companies were doing. A true Christian lady who has earned her place in heaven
— Meriel Deane
I was very sorry to hear of Joan's passing and send sincere sympathy to her family. My parents George and Renee Hobson were involved with Girls' Brigade for many decades so Joan's name was often heard in our home. She was a lovely lady and totally committed to GB.

The last time I spoke to her was at a past members' lunch pre Covid.
Fond memories. Sorry I can't be with you tomorrow. Will be with you in spirit. Anne

Karen and Roy - your mum was one of the very best. She was such a huge part of my life through my teens in GB, as were both of you too. I’m so glad that I reconnected with her over the last 6 months - she was a joy to be with.

I’m afraid I won’t make it to the service on Sunday but will be thinking of you.

Much love xx
— Ruth Gyves
