We were deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Joe's passing and wish to offer our sincere sympathy to Eileen, Joe's children, Grandchildren and the extended Culleton family on their great loss.

Joe was a much loved friend of our family as long as I can remember. He was always cheerful and good humoured and with a boyish enthusiasm and love for life which would always raise your spirits. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and cared for him but we will have many great memories of Joe to sustain us in the difficult time ahead.

May his kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

The Committee and Members of Carlow Rowing Club would like to extend their sincere sympathy to Eileen and the Culleton family on the sad loss of Joe.

Joe had been a member of Carlow Rowing Club since his boyhood and maintained his many great friendships with his former rowing colleagues all through the years. He was one of a large group of Dublin Road / MacGamhna Road young men and women who were to the forefront of Carlow Rowing back in his youth, mainly due to the influence of Joe and the Culleton family, who were all active in the Club.

Joe was a likeable, cheerful and kind individual who will be long remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew him and valued his friendship.
