It was with shock and sadness I learned of my good friend Joe's passing today. Many's the time we met and chatted, over the past few years, about Joe's passion for classic cars and all things guitar. A man who was always there to offer a helping hand and such a great man has left us silently behind - may he rest in peace. My sincere sympathies to Kathleen and family at this difficult time.

Very personally in particular and on behalf of Joe’s many fellow members of the Triumph Classic Owners Club I offer sincere condolences and sympathies to Kathleen, Matthew, Christiane and Vicky and to Joe’s large family who I am privileged to have been introduced to and welcomed into over almost 3 decades. Joe also made many friends in the TCOC over the last 10 years and there have been a great many messages of sympathy posted on the Club’s social media outlets. Not surprisingly, the recurring sentiments in these messages can be summarised as
“Joe was a true gentleman, a guy you could call on when something needed fixing - help and advice always given freely and reward never sought. Joe was always up for a chat on matters mechanical or indeed his other passion - guitars. Joe you will be missed in our circles and remembered with fondness by those of us still TRundling around.”
In memory of my great personal friend on one level and fellow TCOC member on the other it is my intention to develop an Annual Memorial Club event in Joe’s honour. For now, however, we say farewell to Joe but in the knowledge that this good friend will live on in our hearts and minds for many many years to come. RIP Joe and thanks for the memories!
— Pat Stevenson & TCOC
