John Clarke

I was so sorry to learn ofJohn's death. My condolences to his friends and family. I have met John on several occasions since the death of Marian (my former colleague) and he and I were looking for an opportunity for me to visit his Buddhist Garden with him. I'm deeply saddened to have missed an opportunity to share moments with him there. I very much valued John's company and am sorry to have learned of his death too late to attend his funeral to express my sympathy to friends and family, and to share many memories.

Your decision to share your grief after 'Your ' Marian 'died was one of the voices we needed to hear to get Us, her listeners, through the grief of losing 'Our Marian '. And she was 'Ours' ,we loved her and knew too she would find that hard to accept. Jack said it all by sharing his grief this morning in the story of the prodigal son. We need to 'stay open ', Love does that for us when we make our decision to be 'receivers'. As you wake from the dream, may you rejoice in your reunion with Marian and Sinead. So sad to hear of John's dying..such an interesting gent..his craggy face, deep, smokey voice.." made for radio"..I suggested when I first met him..He and his Marian were dear friends of my sister Nuala..particularly Marian..He kept a low profile when she, Marian, was a star of radio herself. They were such a happy

To Mr John Clarke. I knew you for a short period of time, but it’s like I’ve known you long ago, you were a very good and accommodating person. Coming to you from Monday to Friday was like a child going to his parents. I miss the way you used to call me young woman, asking me for coffee, tea, biscuits or chocolate bars.
