John Daly taught me French for six years. The year after I left school I spent several weeks in France in 1971. The ease with which I was able to converse with the locals I attribute to Mr Daly. He was a fine teacher.

Dear Angela and all my cousins,
so sorry and saddened to hear of Uncle John's passing. He was greatly loved by our Mum, Kathleen, and our Dad Peter, always so lovely to us all, and nice to have his connection to Cork GC where he played V Cork for Limerick GC all those years ago, where his Dad played in the 1932 Irish Open won by Alf Padgham, and to see all the love and warmth from his former students in their comments is so touching. May he rest in peace.
