So sad to hear of John’s passing. Used to speak to him on line about snooker over the years, a lovely man. Condolences to all the family. RIP John
— Dermot Gilmartin
Devastated to hear of the passing of John McBride this evening. A class act both on and off the table who always had time and made time for everyone.

I only spoke with him last week and even though he was very weak from chemotherapy his spirit and humour was as always remarkably positive.

Quite simply John was one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet.

My sincerest sympathies and condolences go to his wife Cathy his two young sons and to his family and countless friends.

John represented the very best of who we are and who we can be and will be fondly remembered by everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Rest easy John ❤️
— Fin Ruane

We are deeply saddened to hear of Johns passing. It is hard to believe how Sean and I met by accident on Sunday. I am so happy to have spoken to John on Monday last and hear his lovely voice after all those years.
We had some wonderful memories of John in Duleek and his passion for Chelsea, many stories and great laughs. I hope you all draw strength from all the love John has shown down through his years with you all. His funeral was a testament of how much he was liked and loved by all who crossed paths with him.
A beautiful Gentleman taken to soon.
May he rest in peace. Xcc
