Words cannot express the sadness I felt when I heard of John O'Neills passing!!! A giant of a gentle gentleman!! Big in stature and exuded kindness in everything he said and did!! The banter in Con Cummins pub was second to none!! He always greeted one with a smile and always laughed about taking the canal boat to Kildare games in Croker!! He was always in great humour and witty de luxe!!!Our sympathy to Kieran and his extended family!! A legend!!!

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of John O Neill. John's dedication to local government was a gift to the people of Newbridge. He demonstrated at all times in his public life, experience, wisdom, and sound judgment. His door was always open and he was the go-to person for guidance and advice. I never actually had the pleasure of meeting former Cllr. O’Neill. John has had a massive impact on his hometown of Newbridge but also the entirety of Kildare.
